2008 Update -
communication received from Marie,
daughter of Mr & Mrs Ratcliffe: |
|
"Dear Chris, I
just found your all about Weybridge
website. |
|
The Pelican
Lane Street party page brought a
surprise as the invite to the
Coronation Party was written by my
mother. As far as I can remember the
Mr & Mrs Eve whose invite you have
posted lived in the houses just past
the Airscrew factory and before the
Pelican Public House. I also
recognised faces of a family on the
'annual outing' I knew that lived
close to us in Tennyson Road. |
|
Was surprised
to see a photo of the dance troup
that my mother and father ran for
the girls of Hamm Moor estate. Would
like to point out that they were in
fact called the Hammorian Girl
Juveniles and my father accompanied
them by playing his concertina, not
a 'squeeze box' (he would be turning
in his grave!). |
|
Sadly I lost
touch with many people when I moved
to the North of Scotland in 1972 and
photos lost over many moves. Will
try to find any old photos etc that
I might still have in my possession. |
Anyone out there that remembers
me and my two brothers!!"
Best regards
Marie Scott (nee Ratcliffe) |
